There are numerous health benefits, such as preventing cancer, as well as behavioral benefits. Spaying and neutering is also the best way to decrease pet overpopulation.
In 6 years 1 dog and its offspring can have 67,000 puppies.
In 7 years 1 cat and its offspring can have 420,000 kittens.
8 million dogs and cats are euthanised yearly in the United States due to overpopulation.
