News Content Morning Show Producer

Responsibilities include:

•Accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all stories within the newscast
•The logical flow and pacing of stories and the enhancement of production values of the newscast
•Writing or supervising the writing of story introductions, teases, bumps and transitions
•Editing or supervising the editing of all video
•Compiling an accurate show rundown and timing
•Ensure all deadlines are met
•Coordination with director and technical personnel on all aspects of newscast requirements
•Doubles as producer/assignment editor as required
•Scheduling of live on-set interviews based on viewer interest, timeliness and show missions
•Brief reporters on the approach wanted for stories and to monitor adherence
•Writes, posts updates to web and social media sites
•Tune in and record satellite, microwave and internet feeds as needed
•Willingness to work any shift as needed
•Additional duties as required by management

Qualifications include:

•Highly motivated and willing to learn
•Ability to guide and motivate others in team atmosphere
•Knowledge of ENPS system preferred
•Demonstrated creativity in use of news production techniques, particular use of video
•Strong writing skills with ability to work under strict deadlines
•Ability to tune in & record satellite, microwave, fiber and internet feeds a big plus

Responsible for researching, writing, videotaping, and editing general assignment stories for broadcast and web. Duties include:

-Suggests viable story ideas daily at meetings.

-Receives assignment or evaluates news leads/news tips to develop story ideas.

-Gathers and verifies factual information regarding stories through interview, observation, and research.

-Organizes material, determines slant or emphasis, and writes story according to prescribed editorial style and format standards.

-Shoots video and still photos for web, if required, to illustrate stories.

-Edits videos for all multimedia platforms.

-Gives live reports from site of event or mobile broadcast unit

-Assist news producer in preparing newscast as needed.

-Demonstration of editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and libel laws.

-Additional duties as required by management.


-BA degree in broadcasting or equivalent work experience

-Computer literacy required, including, ideally ENPS news system.

-Knowledge of broadcast quality camera equipment.

-Edit video on Final Cut Pro editing systems, or similar equipment.

-Ability to meet various deadlines.

-Strong broadcast and AP style writing skills.

-Proficient at posting content to station website, Facebook, and Twitter.

-Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.

-Valid Florida Driver`s license and acceptable driving record required.   No phone calls. EOE.
