Blood In Bravo's SUV, Among Other Incriminating Evidence In The Aguilar Case
Published September 30th, 2012
GAINESVILLE - Typically there's a body and you work you're way back from that, but that's not the case here. There's now a reasonable assumption that Christian Aguilar is deceased and that Pedro Bravo, his high school friend, was the one who killed him.
After eight days of searching, christian aguilar has not yet been found dead or alive. Yet today was Pedro Bravo's first appearance in court after being charged with the first-degree pre-meditated murder of his friend, Aguilar. He's is now being held in jail without bond.
A charge that appears to have been rushed because Bravo was about to pay bond and bail out on his former charge from a few days ago of depriving a victim of medical care. But with new evidence found, his alibi is questionable.
Blood was found inside of Bravo's SUV, it is now being tested for DNA by the Florida department of law enforcement. This arrest affidavit also says that Bravo turned off Aguilar's cellphone on Thursday and threw into a wooded area. he also tells police that he kept aguilar's backpack in his bedroom closet. Which indeed police later found hidden in a suitcase.
While these two families are caught in a tragedy, a representative of the Aguilar family in court today, asked for only one thing. Jennifer Rivero said, "Mr. Aguilar and his family are still hopeful, and are out searching today as we are here for Christian, his son missing. The Aguilar family extend their condolences to Pedro Bravo's family. They understand that there are two families suffering today. With that said your honor, they do ask that justice please be served."
One of Pedro Bravo's attorneys, Ron Kozlowski tells us there's nothing that can be done or said to make the Aguilar family feel better at the moment, but "Mr. Bravo's parents are extremely upset, they're distraught, they're worried for their son… They're worried for Chris hey feel horrible about this. They're praying that Chris is found and that's all I can relate to you about how they feel," he says.
Kozlowski says their firm will try to appeal the bond. "We'll have to sit down, regroup and look at the potential for a bond reduction hearing," he says.
Bravo also admitted to police that he attacked and beat aguilar for 10 to 15 minutes until the victim lost consciousness before leaving him behind. Police also found limerock on bravo's car and are asking residents in gainesville who live by limerock to look for places that have been dug up or disturbed.
