TEBOW'S BACK HOME
We caught up with the newly crowned Heisman Trophy Winner...Tim Tebow. And since his return back to Gainesville...he's been bombarded with interviews...parties...photo shoots and autograph signings.
But according to Tebow...he understands it all apart of the job and he's taking it all in stride. "Maybe it'll be a little bit more busy with stuff, maybe more autograph-seekers here and there but that's about it. I'm still the same person I was before I went up there."
While in New York Tebow took in a broadway show and attended several banquets...but neither topped winning the heisman.
"They call it the city that never sleeps and after this weekend...I believe' em."
We know it's been crazy...so exactly how much rest has he gotten since he's won the Heisman?
"You only manage a few hours every night...you don't get to sleep in that's for sure."
His first night in the big apple was spent with the other heisman finalists. After winning the coveted trophy...his first duties included a photo-op with his new bronzed statue..and countless interviews.
"It is pretty surreal when you actually stop and think about it."
Tebow was even able to catch up with previous heisman winner...running back, Herchel Walker.
"I got to spend a lot of time with herschel and that was really cool."
But not as cool as Tebow being able to spend time with his entire family. both his parents, two brothers and both sisters...with one traveling all the way from Asia...where she was working as a missionary...joined him in New York.
"That was one of the greatest parts about it..to have my whole family up there...the little time I did have free I spent with them...which was great."
Although his team members weren't physically there to share in the moment, they were certainly on his mind.
"A lot of them called and congratulated me, which has really been nice."
Included in his well-wishers..a politician and a celebrity martial artist.
"Governor christ texted me a really nice message and Chuck Norris wrote me a really nice letter.
But, despite all the hoop-la surrounding his history making win, he knows come January first, it will all be about...
"run, hit, tackle, throw and catch"
