Doctor Tecla Myrick from the Alachua County Animal Services talks to us about 4th of July pet safety.
You should keep your pets indoors and away from fireworks to prevent burns, wounds or scaring the animal.
Also, make sure you aren't giving your pet harmful table scraps like corn on the cob, ribs or chicken bones.
Alcoholic beverages are also harmful to pets.
It is also important to beware of the heat, since dogs don't sweat and get overheated faster than humans.
If you keep your pets at home for the fireworks display, and supervise them during festivities, then everyone should have a great time.
